One Year Ago Today

This morning after walking back from my first class of the day, I peered down to my phone only to be greeted by one of those Facebook “On This Day” posts. As usual, I swiped over the notification to open up the app and to just get rid of the notification. But as I was about to exit out of the app, I looked closer and saw this:

year1

Exactly one year ago today I received my offer to study abroad at the LSE. How crazy is it that one year forward I am now in that “fantastical” world across the pond in the second to last week of the Lent term? How insane is it that I am even studying at one of the most prestigious universities in the world? Suddenly, I was inundated with all the emotions one can muster up just as that day a year back when I received my offer. (To be honest, I’m still a little in shock!)

Needless to say, this past year has been nothing short of amazing. Every day I feel so privileged and honored to be able to spend an entire academic year in London. Without the support of my parents and my friends, I don’t know that I would have ever dared to take the plunge and apply to this program abroad. Every day I am learning more and more about the world, about this city, about this school, about myself. And every day I keep discovering countless numbers of things and adventures. But, to spare you all from the amount of sappiness that this post could turn into, I’ll keep this short. I can’t even fathom how blessed I am to be here and I am forever grateful for this opportunity. I am so grateful for the education I am getting here, the challenges I have pursued, the friends I have made, the journeys I have ventured on, and the experience I have gained and immersed myself in. I am so thankful for everything that has led up to this and so happy that this year has turned out the way it has so far.

And now I leave you with this song, because it is an awesome one and I essentially feel like this has all been an amazingly magical mystery tour of everything that the other side of the pond has to offer!

Can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year and what the next year has in store!
